I was born in N. Vancouver in 1961, the middle child of British immigrants, and raised on Vancouver Island in various family constellations. Drawing was my first language and became my preoccupation and gift. While rhythm, music, writing, travel and photography feed me, painting is my calling.
My formal education began in 1981 at Emily Carr College of Art, ending with my MFA at Concordia University in 1996.
Having worked for various arts organizations to sustain my studio practice, I now paint full time from my home and studio in Fanny Bay, BC. My work is collected in Canada, USA, UK and Hong Kong.
