Biography
Art has been my lifelong passion. The impulse to record my observations, as closely as possible, stems from a childhood of limited vision. Myopia, astigmatism, crossed and alternate vision--have all impacted the way I see. I isolate my interests through a camera lens, and methodically translate them with oil paint. This is a meditative process. I build each new series as I delve into the elements of its design.
Born in BC, I studied art at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver and went on to earn my MFA in Montreal at Concordia University in 1996. I have focused on my painting practice ever since.
