Maple Song

Some moments in the landscape quietly insist on being seen. In Maple Song, Wood returns back again and again to the coastal terrain of Fanny Bay. She observes, photographs, and reimagines what might otherwise go unnoticed. The result is a body of work that moves between intimacy and immersion, inviting viewers to slow down and reconsider the familiar.

Blooms that never die…

My romance with flowers endures, faithful and unfading, fuelled by passion and demand. Each voluptuous flower, uniquely its own shape, personality and colour, call out from gardens, to be painted one after another. Each offers an interior journey, a vortex of discovery as folds emerge from smooth surfaces. Their evolution is ever increasingly deliberate and complex, as I attempt to give more.
